Can green hydrogen replace natural gas?

In Monday’s announcement, Firstgas Group confirmed its networks can deliver sufficient hydrogen to decarbonise the natural gas network by 2050. Hydrogen blends of up to 20 percent reduce the carbon emissions of natural gas users without requiring any change to existing appliances, it said.

How is NEOM powered?

US-based Air Products, Saudi Arabia’s utilities developer Acwa Power and Neom signed an agreement in July for the hydrogen-based ammonia production facility powered by renewable energy. The project, which will be equally owned by the three partners, will be located in Neom, Saudi Arabia’s $500bn Giga project.

Who runs NEOM?

Neom CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr, who spoke at a conference in Las Vegas in 2019, had a 30-year career at oil giant Saudi Aramco.

The company has recently announced its plans to become a net zero carbon firm by 2035. RIL has plans to invest in INR 600 billion to build a 5000-acre green energy complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

The American gas giant Air Products & Chemicals announced this week that it will build the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in Saudi Arabia.

How is indindemnity calculated in Saudi Arabia?

Indemnity is calculated as 15 or 20 days of basic pay for each year for the first three years. Thereafter, the entitlement is 1 month per year of employment. (MFS) All expat workers come to work in Saudi Arabia through a sponsor who arranges employment and deals with contracts and salaries.
