Can fish get cloudy sand water?

If your fish tank was just set up or is fairly new, cloudy water is most likely caused by poorly washed gravel or sand. We recommend thoroughly washing your gravel before putting it into the tank. Make sure to mix up the gravel/sand in the process to make sure all the substrate is being cleaned.
