Are gas canisters interchangeable?
They’re all compatible with one another from the point of the mechanical connection, and gas is gas. There aren’t any blends of canister gas out there that are incompatible with one stove or another.
Are butane canisters universal?
No matter where you go, you’ll be able to find fuel for a stove such as the XGK EX or WhisperLite Universal. Canister fuel (butane, propane, or blend of both) is widely sold, but it’s not everywhere.
Can you use MSR fuel with Primus stove?
All of these stoves on the market using the new “standard” threaded valve use that fuel blend. Any fuel can from MSR, Jetboil, Snowpeak, Primus, Optimus, etc will work just fine.
How long will a 220g butane gas canister last?
On average, camping gas burns at a rate of 2g of gas every minute. This means a standard 220g aerosol gas canister should last approximately 2 hours, and a standard 450g gas cartridge should last approximately 3.5 hours under optimal conditions.
Can I use Coleman propane with JetBoil?
Any fuel canister with an “EN417” nozzle will work with JetBoil stoves. This is a common standard that includes isobutane/propane fuel canisters from MSR, Primus, GasOne, and Snowpeak. You can also use butane/propane mixtures, such as Coleman. Basically, as long as the canister fits, it will work.
Can you use campingaz with any stove?
Our Camping & Picnic Stoves will run off any of the LPG gases – Propane (red bottle), Butane (blue bottle), Patio Gas (green bottle) or Campingaz 901/904/907. Propane is the best performing in colder weather and has the most variety in bottle size, but any of them will work.
Are all butane cartridges the same?
The blend of gas and the labeling may vary, but the physical canister is identical. Before, when there were a greater number of manufacturers, one could interchange canisters because of the 7/16 UNEF standard thread. Now, they are literally identical.
Can I use Coleman fuel with MSR stove?
Almost any pressurized-type liquid fuel stove will run well on white gas. Not all brands are identical, but any stove that runs on white gas should burn Coleman fuel without issue. MSR offers a unique blend of white gas called SuperFuel.
What kind of gas do MSR stoves use?
MSR recommends only using MSR IsoPro™ fuel with our stoves—because our stoves are specifically designed and tuned for it and thus will perform better. However, if MSR fuel is not available, any canister with an 80\% isobutane / 20\% propane fuel mix and certified to EN 417 should work.
Which is cheaper butane or LPG?
Propane and butane may be extracted the same way, but butane is priced relatively cheaper than propane.
