Are Consoles becoming obsolete?

Yes, and it already has. Consoles are technologically obsolete the day they’re released, as the hardware usually is 2 years old since that’s how long it takes to make a console. Then, they’re usually left in the market for 6 years.

How long will the current console generation Last?

A console generation lasts on average, 5–6 years before the hardware is considered “obsolete” and the new consoles roll in. Just because it is the end of that console generation, does not mean that the console releases its last games.
