Why is the moon rising later tonight?
The Moon is continually moving on ahead in its orbit while the Earth rotates. Because the Moon has moved 13 degrees or so since its last moonrise, it’s going to take another hour or so for the Earth to catch back up to the Moon’s new location, delaying the Moon’s rising above your horizons by ~50 minutes each day.
Why is the moon rising during the day?
It just depends on the moon’s phase and on our weather. We see the moon during the day because it’s brighter than the natural brightness of a blue sky. It’s easy to see the moon on days with clear skies or days with few clouds in the sky.
Why is the moon at different place each night?
Why does the moon seem to change its shape every night? It’s because the moon is a world in space, just as Earth is. Like Earth, the moon is always half illuminated by the sun; the round globe of the moon has a day side and a night side. And, like Earth, the moon is always moving through space.

The Moon rises and sets every day, like the Sun. But the Sun always rises in the morning and sets in the evening; the Moon does it at a different time every day. What time of day does the Moon Rise and set?

Why does the Moon always point towards the Sun?

What is a new moon and when does it occur?
But following the night of each full moon, as the Moon orbits around Earth, we start to see less of the Moon lit by the Sun. Eventually, the Moon reaches a point in its orbit when we don’t see any of the Moon illuminated. At that point, the far side of the Moon is facing the Sun. This phase is called a new moon.
