MAEER’s MIT Institute of Design provides Hostel Facility for both Boys and Girls. MIT-ID Hostel provides quality living in a homely atmosphere, it is a home away from home for students from all parts of the country. All the rooms are allotted on Twin Sharing and First Come First Serve Basis.

Where do most MIT grad students live?
Many undergrads live around Kendall. It’s walking distance but honestly a little boring. Grad students also live further out – in Central Square, Harvard Square, Porter Square and Davis Square. Those neighborhoods are near the T and therefore accessible from/to MIT.
Do MIT freshmen have to live on campus?
MIT requires all first year students to live on campus for the duration of their first year at MIT. We do make rare exceptions to this policy, in cases where first year students are married or going to live full-time with their parent/guardian who reside in the Cambridge/Boston area.
Does MIT have coed rooms?
It is comprised of both males and females (in fact, only one dorm at MIT is single sex, all the rest are coed) and we get along swimmingly. In addition to our suites there are several others, one of which is single sex. Dorms = coed. There are 7 bedrooms, one kitchen, a lounge, and two bathrooms per suite.
Does MIT have tours for graduate applicants?
No. MIT Graduate Admissions does not offer a dedicated tour or information sessions. Graduate applicants interested in visiting should contact the department or program of interest directly to see if arrangements can be made. Can I visit MIT? Yes.
What is it like to do undergrad in 2 years?
So, there was no special stress resulting from “doing undergrad in 2 years”, except having to find a new place to live and losing dormitory life. Maybe graduating in 2 years is not so rough if it’s a smoothly integrated part of something else.

Is MIT worth it if I’m struggling?
MIT can be absolute hell if you’re struggling because the minimal level of difficulty is harder than almost anywhere else, but the kind of person who can complete it in two years is going to be in paradise if they take their time and finish in four. , Engineering Systems PhD, 2012.
