What grade should you be doing pre algebra?

Pre-algebra is a common name for a course in middle school mathematics. In the United States, pre-algebra is usually taught in the 7th grade or 8th grade. The objective of it is to prepare students for the study of algebra. Usually algebra is taught in the 8th and 9th grade.

Is it bad to take pre algebra in 9th grade?

There’s no problem with you taking pre algebra, as long as you ALSO take algebra, geometry, algebra 2, pre calculus, and maybe calculus depending on what schools you’re applying to/what you’re trying to major in. Schools don’t care so much where you start, it’s all about where you end up.
