Can you lose a car you bought in GTA 5 offline?

Your cars get lost/get moved to impound if you leave them around. Impound is bugged and your cars aren’t guaranteed to go back there. As your car isn’t there, it is gone forever, sorry.

If it’s one you’ve bought or modified at the garage, then your best hope is the Impound Garage. If you’ve abandoned your vehicle to start a mission, been wasted or arrested or simply wandered off, then you can almost always find it at the Impound Garage.

And in GTA Online if your car is not destroyed, firstly you will spawn in close to your car, if not you can call the mechanic and call in your vehicle.

How easy is it to lose cars in story mode?

In story mode it is ridiculously easy to lose cars. It’s by design, cars don’t automatically return to garages and there isn’t insurance. If you’re lucky a car left behind (for a mission perhaps) should appear at the impound but they often don’t. Plus, without insurance destroyed cars are just gone.

What happens if you steal a street car?

All others go back to the garage or Hangar. Second, uninsured personal vehicles. If you steal a street vehicle and go into your garage, it’s tracker is removed. This makes it a personal vehicle. If it gets destroyed, it is gone, lost forever.
