Why does my singing voice feel stuck?

If your voice is tired, your throat feels tight, or it hurts to talk, you may have muscle tension dysphonia, or voice strain caused muscle tightness. This common voice problem can occur even if your vocal cords are normal but the muscles in your throat are working inefficiently.

How do I regain confidence in singing?

Warm up with vocal exercises before singing. Sing different notes up and down your vocal range. Stop if you feel your vocal cords straining. Warming up your voice does protect your vocal cords, but it also gives you a chance to relax and gain confidence before singing. Try warming up with lip trills.

Why does my voice sound like I have something in my throat?

A hoarse voice can be caused by anything that interferes with the normal vibration of the vocal cords, such as swelling and inflammation, polyps that get in the way of the vocal cords closing properly, nodules, or conditions that result in one or both of the vocal cords becoming paralyzed.

How can I sing with anxiety?
