Why do NFL players enter draft?

The annual NFL Draft gives the teams the opportunity to infuse their rosters with new talent. The NFL Draft has changed as the league has grown in size and popularity.

The game is based around the salary cap. They actually trade the contracts for the players. Trading is another chance for a fan’s team to “beat” somebody, too. One team will be hailed as the victor of the trade, and the team with the higher pick has leverage to extract a premium from the other team. But fans’ real love of trading down has nothing to do with pride, victory or winning. Fans don’t like risk.

When trades do happen, the teams involved must call the league office to inform them about the completed deal. If the teams want to complete the trade on the weekend, they will have to phone in the deal on Friday. Otherwise, the trade call should be postponed until Monday.
