Power Button. On the top edge of your NOOK is the silver power button. Press once and release to turn your NOOK on, to put it to sleep, and to wake it up. Press and hold for about 7 seconds to completely power off your NOOK.
The top and the right On the right side of your NOOK Tablet you find the + and – volume buttons. The top has a headphone socket where you can plug in earbuds.
How do you turn on a dead NOOK?

- Confirm the microSD™ card slot is empty.
- Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, then release the power button.
- Press the power button again for 2 seconds to turn on your NOOK.
How do you restart a Nook?
To reset your NOOK:
- From the Home screen, tap App Drawer > Settings > System.
- Tap Reset Options > Erase all data (factory reset).
- Tap Reset Tablet device and follow the prompts to perform the reset.

To fix unresponsive buttons, soft reset the device. To soft-reset the device hold the power and “n” buttons together for 10 seconds, then to turn the device back on hold the power button for 5 seconds (as opposed to the usual 2 seconds).
Where is settings on my NOOK?
The NOOK’s built-in Settings screen allows you to adjust the configuration of your NOOK. To access the Settings screen, tap Settings in the NOOK Navigation Menu at the bottom of the Home screen. The Settings screen leads to pages for configuring different aspects of your NOOK.
How long does it take for a NOOK to turn on?
We recommend that you charge your NOOK for at least 30 minutes before you use it the first time. A fully discharged battery requires up to four hours of charge time. To turn your NOOK on, simply press the power button for 2-5 seconds.
