What is the dharma of a son?
There are no duties of a son to their parents as it isn’t a job that is assigned to sons or daughters. Children are always raised with so much compassion and love and in a family where there is unity and respect.

- Don’t treat them like children.
- Listen to them.
- Make time for them.
- Advocate for them.

What is your duties towards your parents?
You must bring joy to your parents, by your behavior. The parents must feel happy that their children are obeying them. You must respect your parents, whoever they may be and in whatever condition they may be. You must respect their words and obey their commands, without any reservation.

Should children be allowed to decide what they want to do?
It should begin at a young age but at the same time what decisions are left upon them depends on their age and maturity. Instead of allowing children to decide whatever they want, responsible parents give them choices and let them choose.
Why do parents complain about their child’s misbehavior?
A parent approaches you to complain not about a particular incident. Or their child’s role in breaking class rules. But that their child was held accountable. In other words, they’re not denying the misbehavior. They’re upset because their child was given a consequence.

One of the biggest responsibilities of parents is to instill confidence in their children and this can be achieved by being more encouraging and motivating of the children’s strengths and good qualities. Constant criticism can rip the children off their self esteem and demoralizes them.
