Unlike Thailand which makes it difficult for expats to stay there long term, The Philippines has one of the laxest visa policies I’ve ever seen. It’s the only country I’ve ever been to where you can just extend your tourist visa for 3 years. They also offer a relatively easy-to-get residency visa if you get hitched with a Filipino citizen.
