Can you join the Army at age 10?

The minimum age for enlistment in the Army is 17 years with parental consent or 18 years without parental consent. Under federal law, the oldest recruit any military branch can enlist is 42.

The federal law that can be manipulated in a case by case basis states that the minimum age for enlistment in the United States military is 17 (with parental consent) and 18 (without parental consent). The maximum age is 35.

Separation anxiety and fear of strangers is also common. Any one of these factors can prevent a little person from feeling comfortable enough to join in a group activity. Transitioning from one activity to another, or simply getting ready to leave the house, can be difficult for kids this age.
