Draupadi was the incarnation of Shachi devi or Indrani(Queen of heaven). She was the partial incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Mainly she was Shachi devi. So she married Arjun and the remaining pandavas because in past life all the Pandavas were the 5 Indras.

Why Draupadi suffered so much?

An old Buddhist story explains that Draupadi was the epitome of a lustful woman, who even cheated on her five handsome husbands with a hunchbacked dwarf. Jain stories recount the evil deeds she is said to have performed in the past that led to her suffering as well as her polyandry.

Knowing that both her husband and brother-in-law would not make it to save her on time, she repeatedly prayed to Lord Agni, the god of fire to immolate herself.

Why did Sita pray to Ganga in Ramayana?

In Ramayana, when the couple is first crossing the Ganga, Sita prays to Goddess Ganga to protect Sri Rama from all the hardships of forest life. When Ravana abducts her, she calls out to all these elements of the natural world to come and rescue her.
