What can you see at a 13 week ultrasound?
We measure:
- Your baby’s nasal bone.
- The thin layer of fluid at the back of the baby’s neck (the nuchal translucency)
- Your blood pressure (we take 2 measurements from both arms)
- The blood flow between you and your baby.
Is 11 weeks too early for nuchal scan?
It’s difficult to do the scan before 11 weeks because your baby is still so small. It would also be too early to combine it with blood tests. It’s too late to do the NT scan after 14 weeks, as any excess nuchal fluid may be absorbed by your baby’s developing body .
