Q: How long will my Energizer® batteries last in their packaging? A: Shelf life varies across our products: Energizer MAX® AA, AAA, C, and D cells last up to 10 years in storage, while our 9V lasts up to 5 years in storage. Energizer® EcoAdvanced® AA and AAA last up to 12 years in storage.

If you leave full battery for few months – it may self-discharge and when voltage drop to “almost empty voltage” – it will start degrading and loosing capacity.

Yes, we can store the batteries in ziplock bags. For at-home storage, though, it’s much better to keep batteries in a battery organizer. However, if you do not own a battery organizer, we recommend you store the batteries in the Ziploc bag. The Ziploc bag is another most efficient way to store the batteries.

Can you keep batteries in a bag?

Store your used and new batteries in separate containers or plastic bags and mention the date you bought them. Also, batteries of different types should be kept apart from one another. If they are stored together, they could react and cause short-circuit.

Most unused alkaline batteries will last between five and 10 years, while Ni-MH batteries have a shelf life of three to five years of non-use.
