How are egg laying animals different from animals that give birth to babies?

The egg laying animals are non primates mamals or also called oviparous animals. How ever the animals who give birth a young one are called viviparous or primate mamals.In case of egg laying animals embryonic development occurs outside of the body,but in viviparous animal it occurs inside the body.

Why do humans give birth and not lay eggs?
