How important is the MIT fun form?
tl;dr: the FUN form is where you can send us your latest grades along with any other relevant updates that you want us to know (things like awards, achievements, etc. Don’t feel obligated to fill up the form—it’s okay if all you’re sending us is semester grades.

Do you declare a major when applying to MIT?
Most students declare a major in the spring term of their first year at MIT. Those who do not must decide on a major by the end of their sophomore year. Visit the Office of the First Year for information about choosing a major.
Do MIT interviews matter?
If you apply to MIT, you should interview. A strong interview definitely helps your chances of being admitted. An average or bad interview does not help, but is not likely in itself to crush your application. There have unquestionably been students admitted to MIT whose interviews did not go well.
What is MIT doing to encourage young people to apply?
