Can parents with A and B blood types make an O?
Someone who has an A and a B version of the blood type gene makes both A and B proteins. And so is AB blood type. They are B blood type but can pass the O onto their kids. So two B parents can make an O child if both parents are BO.
Can you have different blood type than your siblings?
So depending on which genes the parents have, siblings can easily have different blood types. There are some restrictions. If one parent is AB, then the children have to be either, A, B, or AB. If one parent is O, then the children can’t be AB.
What cross would produce a child with type O blood?
Question 3. Remember, because type O blood results from the homozygous recessive genotype (i i ), the only way to produce a type O child is if both parents provide an O allele (i ). Since the father has blood type A, he must be heterozygous (IA i ).
Can two people with type A blood have a baby with type O blood explain your answer using a Punnett square?
But now, the Punnett square looks different! Even though both parents still have blood type A, Dad can pass on either his A or his O gene version. Mom can also either pass on her A or her O. Because of this, you can see that there’s 1 in 4 or 25\% chance for a child to have OO, or blood type O.
What blood type do you have if your parents are OO?
A person who is blood type O has to be genetically OO (receiving a gene that codes for neither A nor B from one parent and a gene that codes for neither A or B from another parent). The possible blood types of the parents include OO, AO, and BO. A person who is blood subtype Rh positive could be genetically…
Can you have O Negative blood if your parents have B+ blood?
It is entirely possible for you to have O- (“O negative”) blood even if your parents and siblings have B+ (“B positive”) blood. The A and B alleles are dominant over the O allele, and the Rh positive allele is dominant over the Rh negative allele.
Do siblings have to have the same blood type?
I have attached a chart that should help sum things up. So even if the parents have the same blood type, say Type A for example..one sibling could have type A blood and the next sibling have type O or 2 siblings have type A and the last has type O, etc. Etc. Hope this helps! Not necessarily.
Can two people with B blood type have a baby?
Two parents with B blood type can produce a child with either B or O blood type. One parent with A and another with B can produce a child with A, B, AB or O blood types. If one parent has A and another has AB, they can either produce a child with A, B or AB blood types.
