Is engineering better at Cambridge or Oxford?

Cambridge is colloquially known as better for Engineering but it’s actually not true when you take a look at the rankings. CS & Machine Learning are definitively higher ranked in Oxford but I would assume both schools are equally competitive. It’s more about which one you would feel more proud being part of.

Is engineering science at Oxford Good?

The Department of Engineering Science at Oxford has a top-level quality assessment rating for teaching and a world-class reputation for research. The Engineering Science programme is a four-year course, leading to the degree of Master of Engineering.

Yes, the work is rigorous. Learning math, concepts, and problem-solving is difficult, but the reward means you know how to take tools and find answers to problems. This is valuable across business and life, much less with engineering projects.

Can I do engineering at Oxford without further maths?

Engineering requires a lot of maths and physics. Therefore further mathematics is recommended as a substitute for economics. If you really want to do economics, you may drop chemistry but chemistry is required by most engineering degrees and would be very helpful if you do it more than economics.

Is Oxford University good for Computer Science?

It’s an amazing degree – it’s versatile, practical and extremely engaging. I love the enthusiasm of the lecturers and the way they pass it on to students. My favourite part of the Computer Science course is the practicals. It’s nice to know that what you’ve been studying as theory can be put to practice.
