Does Nest work internationally?

Yes, absolutely, a NEST thermostat can work anywhere in the world. You simply need an A/C system that is compatible with the Nest (a system controlled by a traditional thermostat), and WiFi is recommended for all the features to work.

How do you set a Nest thermostat to hold a temperature?

Start a temperature hold

  1. Open the Home app.
  2. On the home screen, select your thermostat.
  3. Make sure your thermostat is in Heat, Cool, or Heat • Cool mode before you try to start a temperature hold.
  4. Tap Hold temperature .
  5. Select the Current temp or the temperature preset you want your thermostat to hold.

Will a Nest Thermostat bought in the US work in the UK?

It will work just fine when correctly installed, but there are the following caveats: The Nest thermostat works on 24V AC North American HVAC wiring – in the UK most commonly we have zero volt contacts for Thermostats.

Although the most visible part of the Nest Thermostat (the display) is the same, the rest of the thermostat is very different in the European and North American models. Heating systems in these two regions are entirely different, so a thermostat made for the US or Canada simply won’t work with European systems.
