Why colder countries are richer?

However, the link between temperature and economic prosperity is undeniable. According to Australia Youtubers, Economics Explained, the main reason is that in the formative years of society, people in colder climates needed much higher levels of planning and co-operation or they would have perished in winter.

Why are temperate countries more developed?

A plausible explanation is that temperate regions’ growth was assisted by their climate, perhaps historically, for their transition out of agriculture into sectors whose productivity converges across countries, while tropical countries’ growth is relatively more dependent on gains from specialization and trade.

The reason to why a lot of poor countries are near the equator is because when countries further away from the equator have a more temperate climate and therefore have more fertile soil.

The theory that cold environments would be more conducive to the development of technologically advanced civilizations was widespread in the 19th and 20th centuries. The argument behind it is that the cold climate would have offered extra challenges to survival, thus favoring a process of evolution of society.

I think that the factors that influence the definition of countries as poor and rich are: natural resources; geography; political institutions;demography;culture;science;industrial revolution, government; taxes;secure property; rights; economy growth.

Cold countries become developed after European enlightenment and industrial revolution. Technology help cold countries to move people from one place to other. Exchange information to sparsely population and survive in cold places.

There are differences in climate around the world because of differing amounts of radiation received from the Sun at different parts of the Earth at different times of the year. More heat from the Sun is received near the equator than near the north and south poles where the angle of the Sun’s rays is lower.
