How does mass affect the stopping distance?

A heavier vehicle means more mass, which means more momentum which equals a longer stopping distance. In other words heavier/faster vehicles will have a harder time slowing down. By friction I mean friction between the vehicle and the road. Lower friction results in a longer stopping distance.
