What is the CAP program for UT?

The University of Texas System developed the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) to expand the admission options available to students interested in enrolling at The University of Texas at Austin, the system’s flagship university.

Does everyone get cap at UT?

All participating UT System schools have established minimum enrollment requirements for CAP students. Students are offered the opportunity to participate in CAP only at the universities for which they meet enrollment requirements.

What does the CAP program offer?

The MCSAP is a Federal grant program that provides financial assistance to States to reduce the number and severity of crashes and hazardous materials incidents involving commercial motor vehicles (CMVs).

What does it mean to be capped in college?

When you hear someone say they got “capped” at UT, it means they were offered the opportunity to participate in this program.

Is the CAP program worth it?

In conclusion: The CAP program is a great experience. It isn’t for everyone and it won’t fully prepare you for the rigor of UT. Having said that all the CAP students I met have an extra drive and pride to walk by that tower every day. They are some of the hardest workers I know.

Is UT CAP program binding?

Students who successfully complete the CAP requirements during their freshman year are guaranteed admission to the College of Liberal Arts. The participating CAP universities cannot guarantee that the courses you take as a freshman will help you to prepare for transfer into programs outside Liberal Arts.

Can you appeal cap UT?

It isn’t possible to appeal for CAP schools not offered. Many families have begun asking about the appeals process.

How long does the CAP program take?

How long does it take to process an application and determine eligibility? Within four to six weeks of receiving your complete application, BAR will review the application and all supporting documentation to determine eligibility.

Can I defer my admission to UT Austin?

Students with special circumstances related to enrolling this fall, who wish to request a deferment to a future term, should submit an appeal. New domestic undergraduate students may submit an appeal to the Office of Admissions. New graduate students should contact their department directly about options to defer.

How do you qualify for CAP services?

Applicant Requirements

  1. You must be the registered owner of the vehicle with the vehicle title issued in your name.
  2. You must not have previously participated in CAP with the same vehicle.
  3. You must pay a co-payment toward the total cost of diagnosis and emissions-related repairs.
