  1. Do not run or jump in a cave. Plan each move carefully.
  2. Do not enter a cave when there is rain predicted in the area. Cave often flood suddenly.
  3. Never touch or damage stalactites or other cave formations. These take thousands of years to grow.

Because caves are typically cold, you should plan on wearing layers of warm clothes, including long underwear. Cavers should avoid wearing any type of clothing made of cotton because it absorbs and holds more water than synthetic materials and will make you cold more rapidly.
