Do good writers have high IQ?
Writers as a group do tend to have a higher average IQ than most people in other occupations.

Those who score high in this category are typically good at writing stories, memorizing information and reading.
Does writing reflect intelligence?
Yes, quality writing is a reliable sign of intelligence. It is reasonable to assume that a person who writes fluently and effectively using correct form and acceptable style is an intelligent person. Written language is significantly different from spoken and the differences have to be absorbed, practiced and mastered.

You must be able to understand what a story is, decide the point of your story, work out how best to tell it, and be able to edit it until it accomplishes what you set out to do. This doesn’t come from an innate ability, but from years of work. You have to make yourself smart enough to be a writer.
It is very highly correlated with IQ. In high schools, math ability has the highest correlation with IQ among all the other subjects, followed by English. Math ability draws from both abstract and visuo-spatial intelligence, which, I believe, is the reason behind its high correlation.
Are the Big 3 abilities closely correlated to overall IQ?
The fact that some IQ tests of this type are accepted as an accurate way to assess exceptionally high IQs that are 3 or more standard deviations above the mean of 100 (roughly >= 145), suggests that all of the “ big 3” abilities are likely very closely correlated to overall IQ.
What is the difference between IQ and mathematics?
The mathematical part of IQ is arithmetic. Mathematics goes far beyond that. If you score well on IQ this does not imply that you have high skills in algebra or geometry, for example. I know people who scored high on the IQ test (WAIS) but in mathematics (algebra and geometry) it’s a horror.
Is there a relationship between IQ and conscientiousness?
Chamorro-Premuzic & Furnham (2004), and Moutafi, Furnham, & Crump (2003) report a negative relationship between IQ and conscientiousness.
