Is Tata Nano banned in India?

According to a regulatory filing by the company, Tata Motors had zero production and sales of the Nano in December 2019 while it produced 82 units and sold 88 units in December 2018. It has, however, admitted that in its current form the Nano will not meet the new safety regulations and BS-VI emission norms.

Why Tata Nano failed in Indian market?

However, the car faced a lot of technical issues in its initial production run which further contributed to its failure. During the first two years, several Tata Nano cars were reported to catch on fire due to faulty wiring. The Nano had poor ride comfort and stability issues due to the lightweight body.

Why did Tata Nano fail to attract customers?

Tata failed to attract Indian consumers significantly due to the early cases of the Nano bursting into flames. Because of this, the impression of the automobile being hazardous due to the compromise in quality for slicing the cost was one of the major reasons why Tata Nano failed.

Why did Tata stop making Nano?

Company officials had, however, hinted that production and sales of the Nano would stop from April 2020 as Tata Motors has no plans to invest further on the model to meet strict emission norms under Bharat Stage-VI, which come into effect from April 1 this year and other safety regulations.

Is Tata Nano safe for long drive?

Every thing is fit and fine to drive a nano for long tours. Just ensure that, take 10-15min stoppage after driving 70-80kms to avoid over heating of engine. My avg speed was 60-70 and for one time i have tested the speed @ 110km/hr, but i will not recommend anyone to over speed the car for Safety reasons.
