What is the maximum weight to become a pilot?

Normally, ± 10\% form average weight is acceptable in the armed forces. The table for Indian Air Force has mentioned the height of candidate in millimetres starting from 1520 mm and ending to 1930 mm. While the maximum and minimum weight mentioned the table is 46 kgs to 82 kgs.

Can you be too big to be a pilot?

Yes, there are certain height restrictions for pilots, but a majority of humans fall within the approved spectrum. There are in fact no specific limits for what is considered to be too tall or short to be a commercial pilot.

Can you be a pilot with high cholesterol?

For pilots with elevated cholesterol levels, particularly LDL (bad) cholesterol, the FAA cardiac panel carefully considers the degree of control in the certification decision. Ideally the LDL cholesterol should be under 70 mg/dl for those with known heart disease and at least under 100 mg/dl.

How big can a pilot be?

Applicants below 64 inches (5’4″) or above 77 inches (6’5″) can now enter a cockpit without a waiver. Under the Air Force’s previous requirements, an Air Force pilot applicant — barring waivers — needed to have a standing height between 5’4″ to 6’5″ and a sitting height of 34-40 inches.

Can you fly on statins?

The gold standard goal LDL level has gone from 160, to 100, to 70, and now it is at 50 for high-risk patients.

Does weight matter to be a pilot?

There are no weight requirements laid down by any country or aviation regulator but it’s kind of implied. The preferred height for pilots is between 5ft 4″ and 6ft 4″. The BMI should preferably between 18 and 25 but this can be overlooked on passing some additional medical tests to a certain limit.
