Can you reuse UC application essays?
Yes, you can. There may be new information from this last year that will create a better essay, but the point is you can certainly reuse the essays. They won’t care if you have the same essays. However, if you applied as a freshman and are now applying as a transfer, they will not see the freshman application.
Do UC schools look at previous applications?
A: Yes, the UCs do have access to the entire previous application/s and they will definitely look, mainly to check for discrepancies (date changes, Extra-Curricular switches, etc).
Does UCLA keep old applications?
Yes, you must re-apply. All supplemental documents and fees will also have to be re-submitted. Applications from a previous year are not kept in our system once the new school year begins.
Can you apply to a UC twice?
No. You can only submit a TAG application to one of the six participating UC campuses. However, you can apply for general admission to as many UC campuses as you wish.
Do UC’s need letter recommendation?
Transcripts & letters of recommendation If you’re admitted to UC, then you must submit final transcripts to your campus admissions office. UC does not require (nor read) letters of recommendation at the time of application. A campus may ask for them later as part of a supplemental review, so be sure to check your email.
Does UCLA require essay?

How do I access my old UC application?
To view the files, students have to submit a request in writing to the campus admissions office, preferably through email. The office then has 45 days to respond and allow the records to be viewed, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
