Do you sound different on a voice recording?

When you hear your voice on a recording, you’re only hearing sounds transmitted via air conduction. Since you’re missing the part of the sound that comes from bone conduction within the head, your voice sounds different to you on a recording. Don’t worry if your voice sounds funny to you on a recording.

Does voice Affect accent?

We’re both the same age. Yes, because an accent is a huge factor in the sound of your voice. The different intonations within an accent are caused by changing the shape of your mouth as you make the sounds.

Why do I have an accent in recordings?

All of us sound different due to many factors. The main ones that influence our accents are: Our native language, our country of residence and emotions, stress, speech ability etc. The brain has formed its patterns of learning a language when you first learnt your language.

Why is it weird hearing your own voice?

While some of the sound is transmitted through air conduction, much of the sound is internally conducted directly through your skull bones. When you hear your own voice when you speak, it’s due to a blend of both external and internal conduction, and internal bone conduction appears to boost the lower frequencies.
