Do midyear reports matter?
NO! As everyone knows, you apply to colleges in the fall of your senior year. So that means when they review your application, they do not see the grades you get your senior year – just the classes you take senior year.
Why do colleges ask for mid-year grades?
Since we focus on trends, the mid-year report provides us with a record of your most recent performance in high school and the best estimation on whether you will succeed once you arrive as a freshman. As always we factor in grades along with the rigor of the curriculum and a student’s extracurricular commitments.
Do colleges consider mid-year grades?
On the Common Application for college, you’ll be asked to submit your grades at mid-year. Most colleges will still want to be sent grades from your first quarter of senior year. However, their decision to accept or reject you into their institution will have already been made based on your grades from junior year.

Do UCs need transcripts?
Official transcripts will be required at the campus you elect to attend. UC recognizes that it may be difficult to obtain foreign records in the event of political upheaval or natural disaster. Failure to provide official records may jeopardize your enrollment at UC.
