No. You get to wait to see if the attack would hit you.

Can you cast spells and shields on the same turn?

You can’t cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action. There are no other restrictions on casting multiple spells in the same turn. If you cast a spell as your action, it doesn’t restrict your ability to cast a reaction spell.

Can you cast spells while holding a shield?

There are no rules for letting you maintain concentration on two spells at once. There are features that can let you cast a spell without needing it to have concentration, some spells can let you avoid having to maintain concentration to sustain the spell if cast at higher levels (such as Major Image).
