Is buying booster packs worth it?

Yes, buying packs is almost always a waste of money unless you’re buying lots of them at a discount. Paying $4.29 for a pack of magic cards is almost always a value losing proposition. At my store we can get 3 / $10 and even then that’s not a great value for any pack that’s still in standard.
