What are the benefits of guidance counseling?
It helps to give Students solutions on how to deal with psychological problems which might affect their studies. Via this, the students are able to develop problem-solving skills which to an extent helps them deal with particular issues surrounding their lives.
What I love about being a school counselor?
My favorite thing about being a school based counselor is getting to build relationships with the students and staff. Our position is unique in that we truly have the potential to impact every person in our school. I also love being a part of helping other educators meet the needs of their students.
What is the importance of guidance and counseling in schools?
As a result, Guidance and Counselling is of a paramount importance to address the academic, vocational, personal and social needs of the children. Through this, the kids are enabled to develop positive self-image and actualize their adjustment needs that leads them into the future.
What motivates me to become a Counsellor?
You have a strong desire to help others. One of the most common reasons people decide to enter the field of counseling is because they have a strong desire to help others and to assist people with the challenges of daily living.
What is your favorite part of being a school counselor?
“The best part about being in the school counseling profession is the ability to work with all students. The opportunity to meet with all students 9-12 is extremely rewarding. At the high school level, we are able to work with the student as a whole.
Why do I love being a counselor?
The most rewarding part of being a counsellor is knowing that you had a part in affecting the life of another human being. Giving hope when people feel hopeless. Inspiring others to be all that they are capable of being, so that they can go out into the world and pay it forward by helping others.
How do you think a school counselor may help you resolve some of your personal issues and concern?
Counselors can give you tips on standing up for yourself if you’re being bullied, managing stress, talking to your parents, and dealing with anger and other difficult moods. Counselors also can advise you on problems you may have with a teacher, such as communication difficulties or questions over grades.
Why do you think counselors must do their roles and functions based on level of competencies?
They perform various roles such as facilitating learning of subject matter content, assessing assignments, providing motivation and encouragement, and supervising research/term papers/project work. Each of these roles requires specific competencies to enable them to perform satisfactorily.
Why did you become a school counselor?
As a school counselor, I get to do the same thing for hundreds of children. Help them develop belief in their ability, emphasize the importance of hard work and education and help them to set goals for their future. This is what school counselors get to do for our students and that is why I love my job so very much.
