What qualities does Wharton look for?

As a top-tier MBA program, thousands of candidates apply to Wharton each year. Based on my experience, there are three main qualities that Wharton looks for when evaluating candidates for admission; these are impactful leadership, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate.

Is it harder to get into Wharton or Harvard?

US News ranks Wharton as the nation’s number one Business School, tying with Stanford University. While this is higher than, say, Harvard Business School’s acceptance rate of 12\% or MIT Sloan’s of 14.6\%, it shows that no one simply walks into this coveted program.

What does Wharton look for in candidates?

Wharton looks for diversity in the professional backgrounds of its admitted students just as it does in all other parts of our applicants’ profiles. No one industry is favored over another, and experience in a Fortune 500 company does not have higher value than experience in a small business or public institution.
