ARMY SPORTS POLICY Sports competitions/championships at various levels will be held in Athletics, Boxing. Basketball, Cross country, Football, Aquatics, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Wrestling, Squash, Tennis, Golf, Polo and Equestrian sports.

Does NDA have sports quota?

There is no such thing as a sports quota.

Can NDA cadets use phone?

Are mobiles allowed for cadets at NDA? No. As per the rules of National Defence Academy, mobile phones are prohibited. There is STD booth and squadron land line phones in the academy which a cadet can use at the time of urgency.

Do NDA cadets get vacation?

Cadets at NDA get leave for 26 days in every 6 months i.e in the month of june and December. In special cases like marriage of siblings, death, some serious family problem and injury they might get special leave and this power to grant special leave to cadets rests with commandant. Thanku.

What is the salary of an NDA cadet in India?

During the three year training periods, Cadets are eligible for a sum of Rs. 21,000 per month as stipend. But after the completion of training, they will receive approx Rs.55000 per month. Once NDA cadets successfully complete his training they will join the armed forces as- In IAF they will join as flying officers,

Why do the NDA cadets have to play sports?

As the army concentrates on the overall development of the cadets, they include sports activities also. As a rule, everyone who is in NDA has to pick at least a sport of his/her choice and practice it throughout the training period. Some talent generation programs are readily supported by the NDA and this helps to promote the Indian sports.

Cadets are welcomed in NDA by Joint training team (JTT).
