Edit: I know its been determined that it was just Camera Angles, but hypothetically the Chiefs Armor could have adjusted to his new height. Cortana was able to adjust the Suit while he was in cryosleep, thanks to a Nanotechnology retconn I believe. The same could easily apply to the suit adjusting to his new height.
