WHAT A levels do you need to be an engineer?
A levels – To get on to an engineering-related degree, you will usually require a minimum of two A levels, with three A levels and A/B grades required for the most popular courses. Maths A level is normally essential, with many universities requiring or preferring a second A level in physics.
Do you need to be good at physics to be a mechanical engineer?
The short answer is: yes, you can still be a good engineer even if you don’t “understand physics”. The degree to which an engineer uses physics varies depending upon the type of engineering and career. For example, if you are a civil engineer and design bridges, then you will need to understand stresses and forces.
What is harder A level maths or physics?
Physics was the third most difficult because it was less quantitative than Mathematics; I think it’s expected that you’ll take Mathematics as well, so you can reason for yourself why the material in your physics class is correct. You can also use a lot of physical intuition to fill in gaps in your knowledge.

Do engineers need physics?
All branches of Engineering requires extensive application of Mathematics and Physics. Branches like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical etc requires in depth knowledge of Mathematics and Physics. In comparison, Computer Science and Engineering requires less Maths and even lesser Physics.
Can you do engineering with a maths degree?

Should I do Maths and Further Maths?
Firstly, if you enjoy maths in general, Maths and Further Maths will be great. The workload in is far higher in my experience than Physics and Economics, I would urge you to stay on top of it.
Is Maths harder than physics at GCSE?

Is chemistry a higher workload than economics?
Yes I would say that Chemistry is definitely a higher workload than Economics. As to which would be better for a maths/physics course, the difference isn’t worth worrying about. Chemistry may be seen as slightly better but only by a tiny bit so the extra workload probably isn’t worth it.
Do you need Maths for psychology GCSEs?
At least 10\% of the marks in assessments for psychology require the use of mathematical skills, which will be at least the standard of higher-tier GCSE mathematics.
