What gods did the pagans worship?

A Celtic Pagan may pay tribute to Brighid and Lugh—or to Cernunnos and the Morrigan. They might even worship just one primary deity—or ten. A Roman Pagan might have a shrine to his household gods, the lares, as well as to the gods of the land around him, and one to another deity at his place of business.

Do pagans worship Greek gods?

Modern pagans worship those same gods, or others from the ancient Greek, Egyptian and Norse traditions.

Do pagans worship animals?

The use of a totem animal is not part of traditional Wiccan practice. However, as Wicca and other modern Pagan practices evolve and blend together, many people who follow non-mainstream spiritual paths find themselves working with a mix of many different belief systems.

Do pagans worship many gods?

The pagan usually has a belief in many gods (polytheistic), but only one is chosen as the one to worship which represents the chief god and supreme godhead. As Christianity progressed into the present age, a pagan became referred to anyone not being a Christian, and paganism denoted a non-Christian belief or religion.

What do “pagans” beleive in?

Reincarnation (rebirth of the body into another bodily form) was believed by the people, but they did not believe in the existence of heaven and hell. Today, Paganism (neo-paganism) celebrates the Earth, living creatures, nature, and so on. Most modern-day pagans believe in more than one god, while others are atheistic.

Do Pagans have funerals?

Yes, pagans do have funerals, although they vary widely and are entirely up to the family of the deceased as to what will be included in the ritual. A good glimpse into one of these ceremonies occurred just last week when the famous “Eron the Wizard” (real name Ian Wilson) was laid to rest in the UK at the age of 62 after succumbing to cancer.

Do Pagans believe in a god?

Of course they do. Neo-Pagans believe in their deities just as much as Christians believe in God and Jesus, and as much as Muslims believe in Allah, and as much as Jews believe in Yahweh. In fact, Neo-Pagans may have even more believe in their deities because most are converts and didn’t just stick with the religion that their parents follow.
