Why did Malcolm X and Martin Luther King not get along?

Malcolm X, who advocated a nationalist approach to equal rights for black people, often taunted King, criticizing him for subjugating blacks to their white oppressors and teaching them to be “defenseless in the face of one of the most cruel beasts that has ever taken a people into captivity.”

Why is Malcolm X famous today?

When will Malcolm X day become an official holiday in Illinois?

In 2015, the Illinois Senate unanimously passed the resolution for the official holiday designation where the law “… officially designated ‘May 19, 2015, and every May 19 thereafter’ as Malcolm X Day. Though the resolution passed making the holiday official, the Illinois official list of holidays still has yet to reflect the holiday.

The U.S. is nearly always involved in some kind of violent intervention or outright land grab, and neither the adjective “violent” nor is its noun form “violence” used.
