Can anyone use the New York Public Library?
The New York Public Library requires all visitors, including children and teens, to comply with our General Policies and Rules. Library staff are available to assist and support children with their use of Library resources. Disruptive children, attended or unattended, may be asked to leave.

Library staff reserves the right to restrict or prohibit photography when it may physically damage materials; disrupt other readers; violate donor restrictions and purchasing agreements; or if items have been previously digitized.

Can I still borrow books? Yes! Libraries allow patrons to borrow e-books or audiobooks through online systems or applications you can download to your smartphone. Visit your local library’s website for more information.
How do I use Libby without a library card?
If you don’t have a library card yet, your library may have instructions or an easy way to get one directly from Libby. At the top of the library’s home screen in Libby, tap I Would Like A Library Card or Use My Phone Number and follow the prompts.
Do you need a permit to take photos in Central Park?
