What is pro-e Catia?

pro-e is a upper mid range 3d software and catia is a high end 3d software. the costs reflect the differences, although I hear that can be somewhat competitive these days… differences also carry over into the PDM systems, depending on who you talk to, smarteam vs windchill system.

What is pro-e called now?

Pro/ENGINEER is now PTC Creo and it’s changed more than just its name! Creo is a suite of solutions offering integrated 3D CAD/CAM/CAE software.

Are Creo and Pro-E is the same?

Creo is simply the latest version of Pro/E, which was launched under the new name back in 2011. There is as such no difference between Pro-E and Creo. Creo is the advanced version of Pro-E which has more advanced features and flexiblity as compared to Pro-E. So just “GO CREO” and get your job done.

I doubt there are any functional aspects where pro-e exceeds catia in terms of capability, however, catia exceeds pro-e in several specifics such as surfacing, 2d, interfacing with other software, etc…
