A lack of face-to-face contact with friends and partners may lead to heightened risk-taking such as sending sexualized images, while increased and unstructured time online may expose children to potentially harmful and violent content as well as greater risk of cyberbullying.

What percentage of 12 15 year olds are using the Internet?

As last year, more than nine in ten (92\%) children aged 5-15 go online using any type of device, and this increases with age, ranging from 52\% of 3-4s to 99\% of 12-15s. Around six in ten 5-15s use a tablet or a laptop or to go online, while half use a mobile phone.

How long do 12 15 year olds spend online?

In 2018, children aged three and four were found to spend 8.9 hours on average consuming internet media per week. During the same year ,children aged 12-15 were found spending 20.5 hours consuming internet per week as opposed to 18.9 hours in 2015.
